The Columbia car seat is without doubt our most popular item from our specialised car seat range and is specially designed for children with disabilities from 9 - 46kg and up to 1.52m tall.

With its vacuum-formed ABS plastic shell and chromed steel side tubes, the Columbia Car Seat is very light at only 5kg. The car seat cover is washable and comes in a choice of colours.

The Columbia Medical Special Needs Car Seat meets or exceeds safety standard: American Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213 (FMVSS 213) and FMVSS 225; Canadian CMVS 213.3 and European ECE R44.03. It is also FAA compliant, has been approved for use on airplanes and fits in aircraft economy class seating.

The Columbia Car Seat does not meet the requirements of AS/NZS 1754-2000 and therefore customers should obtain a certificate from their Medical Practitioner to permit its use in Australia. ETS encourages customers to consult with their allied health professional to ascertain if this product best suits individual needs.

The Columbia Car Seat (SCS2000) is available in pink, blue and grey and supplied complete with:

Please note that ETS recommends installation of a reinforced child restraint anchorage point when using the Columbia Car Seat.

An additional tether strap can be purchased to allow the Columbia Car Seat to be used between appropriate vehicles.

Lateral Pad Inserts

A Swing-Away Abductor is now available for use with the car seat to control leg adduction. This consists of a padded pommel on a swing away hinge, with matching upholstery. It is available in Oval (87.5 mm wide, 62.5 mm high, 75mm deep) and Triangular (87.5mm wide, 87.5mm high, 75mm deep) shapes.

Swing-Away Abductor

The optional Seat Depth Extender (SCS2025) provides for more years of growth with better comfort and positioning. This accessory increases seating depth from the normal 33 c40 cm). The Seat Depth Extender has been crash-tested successfully with a 102 lb. dummy. It installs easily with 6 screws on any new or old Columbia Car Seat, and the upholstery stretches easily to cover the Seat Depth Extender.

The Columbia Stroller Base (SCS2100) is built for durability from light weight aluminium and measures 48cm inside width. A NEW feature is a tilting option that allows you to tilt the Seat back when your child needs more trunk and head support, or simply wants to take a nap. The footrest is adjustable in height and has a foot-ankle strap. The large wheels ensure a smooth ride. Front and back tires are maintenance free because they never need air. It gives a smooth ride and folds for easy storage.
